I started this back in September 2009 and I'm currently about a third of the way through (word count 78,000, now on Chapter 21). My life took a dent in November when my mum died of cancer, but I've found the book a great place to work with the emotional trauma of that experience. Certainly every character in the book has lost people close to them.  So I'm able to draw on this.
