Strap line -

Aruba; Before the events of Yellow Dawn, it was renowned for its white, sandy beaches and year round tropical climate. Afterwards, it was left uninhabited - its remaining population fleeing to larger islands and settlements in Venezuela.

Now, its become the focus of a UDP led re-colonisation project.

They're looking for Engineers, Doctors, Fishermen & Farmers to act as pioneers.

They want you to be part of the team to build a new working settlement on the island, in order to support the colonists who'll be re-located there shortly.

The only problem, is that this is the third attempt to re-take the island. Both previous attempts to place settlements here have failed, and the pioneers who were sent there mysteriously vanished.

The island now has a reputation as the "Marie Celeste" of the Caribbean - myth and rumour surround it and finding workers is becoming difficult. Were they killed by the pirates and raiders known to lurk the bays and inlets of the Lesser Antilles? Were they assassinated by a rival group within the UDP who want to see the project fail, or did the ghosts of Aruba's previous inhabitants rise up and lead them to their doom in the waters of the Caribbean?

Do you have what it takes to act as a pioneer and make a difference in the world?

Players introduction -

  • The pay is very good and the weather's great. There are no reported Zombies on the island and most of the resources are there, waiting to be scavenged. Should be an easy number if you're not superstitious.

GMs introduction -

  • Inspired by Simons work, this has the potential for a good opening scenario and getting PC's together.
  • The PC's alternatively could have been hired as a group of troubleshooters (possibly due to the success of getting their own settlement established) to oversee the project and make sure that three times really is the charm.
  • Are the rumours true? Scope for Occult/Mythos or more mundane reasons behind the failures of the two previous colonies.
  • Finally, maybe the story surrounding a rival group within the UDP is indeed fact, and the PC's are hired to make sure this one fails as well...
