Yeah, still plugging away at it

Heres a sample. Mostly notes at the moment, based on towns I find on Wiki that have certain characteristics (low population density, natural or man made defenses, geographical location, nearby resources/industry or agriculture).

Albania - 70% of the country is mountainous, rugged and often inaccessible. The lowlands of the west face the Adriatic Sea. Low population density. Hoxhas 500,000 pillboxes and a large collection of soviet weaponry still available.

Berat – Old fortress town from Ottoman days, small population, The pine forests above the city, on the slopes of the towering Tomori mountains, provide a backdrop of appropriate grandeur. The Osumi river has cut a 915-metre deep gorge through the limestone rock on the west side of the valley to form a precipitous natural fortress, around which the town was built on several river terraces. Fortress is considerably damaged but encompasses most of town and is still formidable.

Krujë – low population pre YD and in a relitively isolated mountainous location. Restored castle and citadel of Skanderbeg dominate the town.

Patos and Fier – low population pre YD, both located within 7km of each other, centre of Albanian Gas and oil production, significant industry in Fier. producing about 5000 barrels of oil and natural gas a day, in 2030, from several local fields. Europe’s largest (although depleted) onshore field. Isolated

But I need to flesh this out a fair deal. Just getting a list at the moment.
